Chapter 1670 Jonathan's Plea for Help!
Chapter 1670 Jonathan's Plea for Help!
With Elder Cael's final announcement, the tense atmosphere lingering throughout the square gradually began fading away.
The Smelting Trial had finally ended.
Soon afterward, the countless gathered disciples and elders slowly began dispersing in different directions. Various third-rate forces regrouped together while discussions about the trials echoed endlessly throughout the Violet Star Palace.
Some disciples excitedly discussed the treasures they obtained.
Others spoke about the brutal battles inside the Soul Sealing Painting.
However, the topic mentioned most frequently by nearly everyone remained the same.
Max Morgan.
Many elders looked toward him with complicated expressions while younger geniuses either admired him, feared him, or envied him deeply.
Meanwhile, Max calmly walked through the dispersing crowd before eventually arriving beside Isabella and Lucia.
The moment Isabella saw him approaching safely, the tension within her expression visibly relaxed.
"You are finally back," Isabella said softly while looking at him carefully. "Do you know how terrifying your battle with Ray looked from outside?"
Even now, traces of lingering shock could still be seen within her beautiful eyes.
Lucia immediately nodded in agreement afterward. Even though they weren't present at the platform where the battle between Ray and Max took place, they weren't far from it. They could see and heard the battle from the nearby platforms at the 8th layer.
"That Soul Devouring Sword was horrifying," Lucia admitted honestly. "For a moment, even I thought something might happen to you."
Max simply smiled faintly after hearing their words.
"Unfortunately for Ray," Max replied calmly, "things did not go according to his plans."
Lucia immediately rolled her eyes slightly.
"You say that so casually," she muttered. "But you nearly scared everyone half to death."
Even Isabella revealed a helpless smile afterward.
Clearly, despite Max acting calm now, the battle earlier had genuinely shocked many people.
Then suddenly—
"Max."
A calm voice sounded from nearby.
The three of them immediately turned toward the source of the voice.
Jonathan slowly walked toward them.
His expression remained calm as usual, but his eyes carried obvious seriousness while looking at Max.
The surrounding disciples instinctively became quieter after noticing Jonathan approaching.
After all, Jonathan was still one of the most famous geniuses present within the Smelting Trial.
And after the third trial rankings, everyone clearly understood that Jonathan and Max were now considered two of the strongest younger generation geniuses among the gathered third-rate forces.
Jonathan eventually stopped several steps away from Max.
Then he spoke directly.
"I would like to speak with you privately for a moment," Jonathan said calmly.
Lucia immediately narrowed her eyes slightly while Isabella became somewhat thoughtful.
However, Max himself did not appear surprised.
"What is it about?" Max asked calmly.
Jonathan remained silent briefly before replying.
"It concerns the Cosmic Ascension Conference."
Hearing those words immediately caused Max's interest to rise slightly.
Jonathan then continued.
"Julie is also involved in this discussion."
At the mention of Julie's name, Max became even more thoughtful.
Clearly, this was not some casual conversation.
After a few moments of silence, Max finally nodded lightly.
"Alright," Max agreed calmly. "Where do you want to meet?"
A faint smile appeared on Jonathan's face afterward.
"There is a quiet pavilion near the eastern side of the Violet Star Palace," Jonathan replied. "Julie is already waiting there."
Then Jonathan looked directly into Max's eyes.
"There are some things we believe you should know before the Cosmic Ascension Conference begins."
Max stared at Jonathan briefly before eventually smiling faintly.
"Interesting," he muttered softly.
Then he nodded once more.
"Lead the way."
Following Jonathan through the quiet pathways of the Violet Star Palace, Max soon arrived at a secluded area far away from the noisy gathering square.
The surroundings here were much calmer.
Beautiful spirit trees swayed gently beneath the evening breeze while faint spiritual mist drifted across the pathways. Small streams of clear water flowed peacefully nearby, creating a tranquil atmosphere completely different from the tense environment of the Smelting Trial earlier.
At the center of the area stood an elegant pavilion built beside a calm spirit lake.
Julie was already waiting there.
She sat quietly near the edge of the pavilion while staring toward the surface of the lake thoughtfully. The faint moonlight reflecting across the water illuminated her expression softly, yet despite the peaceful surroundings, the atmosphere around her felt strangely heavy.
The moment Max and Jonathan stepped into the pavilion, Julie slowly raised her gaze toward them.
However—
The instant Max entered the pavilion, his eyes narrowed slightly.
Because he immediately sensed something wrong.
The atmosphere here was far too tense.
Neither Jonathan nor Julie appeared relaxed in the slightest. Their expressions carried obvious seriousness, and even the spiritual energy fluctuations around them felt faintly unstable.
This was not the atmosphere of people casually discussing the Cosmic Ascension Conference.
Max's Dimensional Sovereign Body silently spread outward for a brief moment before retracting once again.
Then his expression became calm.
At that moment, Max already understood something clearly.
Jonathan had not called him here merely to discuss matters related to the Cosmic Ascension Conference.
There was something else.
And whatever it was, it seemed important enough for both Jonathan and Julie to personally wait for him here.
Because of that, Max no longer wasted time.
He directly walked into the pavilion before stopping in front of the two of them calmly.
Then he spoke immediately.
"You did not call me here to talk about the Cosmic Ascension Conference."
The moment those words fell, Jonathan and Julie's expressions changed slightly.
Max's eyes calmly swept across both of them before he continued speaking.
"So stop wasting time."
His voice remained completely calm.
"What is it that you actually want?"
Jonathan remained silent for several moments after hearing Max's question. Clearly, whatever he wanted to say next was not easy for him to bring up. Even Julie's expression became visibly heavier as she quietly lowered her gaze for a brief moment.
Eventually, Jonathan took a deep breath before finally speaking.
"We need your help."
The seriousness in his voice immediately caused Max to frown slightly. After everything that happened during the Smelting Trial, Max knew very clearly that people like Jonathan would not casually seek help from others unless the situation was genuinely important.
"What kind of help?" Max asked calmly.
